Dan got really sick with a new bout of cancer and drug reactions at the same time. We were able to help a bit with soup, at the ER, and borrowing my folks' wheelchair, but it was a rough time.
The funeral was on Saturday March 8 at the exact same time as my nephew Jeff's wedding. I was able to make it to about a half hour of the viewing. Since the girls couldn't come in the temple, Jason kept Laura and Eliza (Sara had a dress rehearsal at the same time as the wedding and funeral and was cared for by Karyn - thank you - and another dance mom) at the funeral with him.
Laura was asked to sing and threw together a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace at the last minute for the program. Thank you Mom and her piano teacher Doris for helping us get that together for her.
Jason said the funeral was lovely as was the graveside. He took these pics for the blog - thanks honey!

Sorry it was such a stressful time. I'm glad you were able to spend a little bit of time doing everything. So nice to have a picture of each one of your children with Grandma Great.
ReplyDeleteIt was great to spend the day with family and remember the sweet life of Grandma Great.
