Summer Is: Crafting Escapes

When the girls get hot and tired after being outside, we craft. When Steph is over, she takes charge!

We've made bouncy balls. They weren't very bouncy. But, they were fun to make.
Steph brough candy necklace kits when she helped me after my surgery. Sara's is gone and Laura's is perfect and complete still.

A whole new collection of suncatchers have joined some old ones.

Summer Is: A Lemonade Stand

The girls had a great (and very hot) time running a lemonade stand today. Parents, grandparents and some cool neighbors made it quite the success. Oh, and we found a use for the sno-cone maker at the stand today.

Stacy and Nick were awesome and helped the girls make all the preparations. YAY, summer!

Summer Is: Sprinklers

Nothing beats playing in the sprinklers when it's hot outside. Okay, playing in sprinklers with all the neighborhood friends is better!

Have I mentioned that our backyard is just the perfect place to play with sprinklers?!

Summer Is: Skirts

The girls are living in their skirts that I've made for them. They are cool, fun, and with bike shorts underneath they are comfy in every way!

Summer Is: The Park With Friends

We love going to the park with friends! We went not long before my surgery with Karyn and Andrea. The big girls loved the swings and Eliza loved the slide.
Elina loved Sara, and Sara loved Elina. I swear they could pass as sisters they look so similar. Aren't they cute?!
I loved chatting with my girlfriends and watching them be wonderful Mommies.

Summer Is: Popcicles

All of a sudden, it became HOT here! So, the girls are living on Otter pops and popcicles. I try to keep them outside, but my floor is still rather sticky. Oh, well!

Summer Is: Trips to the Cabin

One of the best parts of summer is taking trips up to the cabin. We all have our favorite parts. Sara's favorite seems to be everything, but mostly the zipline.

Eliza's favorite is the swing. Yep, she loved it so much that it lulled her to sleep.

Laura and Jason are loving the new BB gun. Laura is a natural shot!

4th of July 2011

This was the BBQ 4th of July. We figured if we were having this many BBQs, we ought to make the hot dogs tastier. So, we picked up some J Dawgs sauce and I made the world's hugest pasta salad.

It started on Sunday evening with a BBQ at Christy's. Then on Monday afternoon we had Jason's family's annual party in the park. As usual, it was hot and lots of fun.

On the night of the 4th, Stacy organized a street party. There was lots of food, great conversation, piles of kids, TONS of fireworks (including many of the newly legalized aerial ones) and great friends. I hope this becomes an annual tradition.

Summer Is: Flowers

I decided I needed an outlet for all my fun, but obscure pictures of the summertime goings on. So, here they are.

It Wasn't Easy, but it's Green

Yay! Jason and I finally made some progress on the big beige wall. It is no longer beige; it is green. And I love it! What do you think?

Now comes the stenciling...but that is terrifying. So I'll enjoy the green for now!
