Easter 2015

We were planning on being in Disneyland over Easter.  However, Laura got cast in her dream role ("Jane" in Mary Poppins) with her favorite director at Scera Shell this Summer.  So, we had to adjust.
We gave a note to the bunny and Easter Bunny day came Saturday morning before Laura's rehearsal.  They had a fun hunt and found their baskets that had Lindor bunnies and eggs, stickers, coloring, etc.  We didn't have time to dye eggs, but the bunny filled eggs with chocolate and hid them for the girls.
It was small and lovely!  It was done in just enough time for us to get Laura to rehearsal and the rest of us ready for a quick trip to Moab.

St. Patrick's Day 2015

We always have to celebrate St. Patrick's in our house.  Laura was performing that night once again, so we kept it mellow.  We did the Top O' The Mornin' breakfast with the Irish grandparents.
The girls wore their shirts from last year.
Eliza regaled us all with a song and dance she learned at school all week to celebrate.  Aren't she and Rosie cute performing it?!

Laura's Annie Jr Play at Hale

Laura performed in Annie Jr at Hale.  It was a great performance and some of the most fun Laura has ever had at a play!  Laura played Molly and was utterly adorable and magnetic.  It sold out and was great fun to watch!
It was a crazy audition experience as they had tons of girls show up and had the biggest callbacks I have ever seen.  She made it to the final two for Annie and was super lucky to get her role as Molly.  Well done, Laura!!

Battle of the Books

Laura and I spent a lot of time in February and March doing America's Battle of the Books.  My friend Danyelle was in charge of the program and she did an amazing job!  I helped her out and loved coaching my 4 teams, judging battles, prepping practice questions, and handing out buttons.
Laura loved the experience and I loved watching kids learn to love reading in a different way!  It was a great experience!
Laura read all 20 books for her age group - a VORACIOUS READER.  She also read her 5 assigned books twice - an EXPERT READER.

Sara Rosie Braces

Well, kid #2 has just as many mouth problems as kid #1; actually they are even worse.  Poor Sara Rosie's mouth is just too small.  Fortunately or unfortunately, we have regular dental appointments and listen to our dentist's recommendations.  So, she had to get braces at 7 years old.  By putting in an palate/mouth expander now along with braces, we should be able to avoid really expensive and painful surgery later.  We're all pretty sure this is a good thing.
She's been a wonderful trooper about all of this and is utterly adorable.  Though, she is super glad she only has to wear the expander for 90 days as it's been miserable.  We are so glad her bones are so pliable now and it doesn't have to be longer!
