Disney Funnies

Our trip to Disneyworld was such a blast. Please note that I am calling it a "trip", not a "vacation". We did not stop and rest hardly at all, therefore, it was definitely a trip. This is a picture of Laura the day before we left Florida. We were all that tired.
Laura was sooooo much fun on the vacation. She just kept us grinning at all times. I'm including some of the funniest things she did.

#1: The day we went to Epcot it decided to rain. Okay, it rained every single day on the trip, but the funny occurred this day. We had just purchased her a little stuffed animal at the very cool "Living Seas" exhibit. She picked it out special from all of her options. She wanted a dolphin and a little one b/c she was little. FYI: it's a boy and it's name is Carrold. Anyway, the sky decided to DUMP rain right when we were leaving the exhibit. Laura and I ended up waiting under a tree for Jason to get back to the building with the stroller and umbrella. While standing there, I asked Laura, "Is everything okay?" She looked up at me very seriously while clutching the newly purchased Carrold in her arms and responded, "It's okay, Mommy. Dolphins like the water." From that day forward (second day of vacation) Carrold went everywhere with us and Laura told him all about everything she saw. Carrold learned all about Hippos and Winnie the Pooh from Laura. Here is Laura telling me in the car that she was "happy" to be going to Disneyworld and showing me her "happy smile."Here is a picture of Laura and Jason the first day of our trip...the day it decided to rain the very most. Aren't they just so cute sitting there waiting for the monorail?!#2: We went out to dinner with Tommy while we were in Florida in order to meet his fiancee Cindy. Btw, she is darling! There were wonderful fountains by the restaurants and the girls had a blast playing in them. Tommy indulged them by giving them pennies. However, in order to earn the pennies, Tommy had Laura raise her arms and say, "Victory is mine!" It was totally cute. However, later in the week Laura found another fountain, turned to us and said, "Victory is mine" and then held out her little hand and said, "I need a penny." Here is Laura and Tommy doing the "Victory is mine" ritual. I wonder if she'll still do that when she's a teenager and is asking us for money??
#3:So, we wanted to get Laura some Mickey ears because nothing is cuter than a little kid at Disney in Mickey ears. Laura had said that she would love to wear some ears, so we were game. We stopped at the hat store to buy her ears. We put the traditional ones on her head and showed them to her in the mirror. She scrunched up her face and said, "These are to big for me." While still looking in the mirror, I put a little headband with ears on her head. She scrunched up her face again and said, "I think these are too little for me." At that point we asked her to look around the store and point out a pair she liked. She picked out the pair below, looked at herself proudly in the mirror and pronounced, "These totally fit me." We bought them. How can you argue with an opinion like that?! And really, there is nothing cuter than a curly headed kid at Disney wearing Mickey or Minnie ears!
#4: My final funny for the day has to do with the fact that Laura is fearless. She was so bummed that she couldn't ride the big rides. "I'm sorry I'm not tall enough," was her sad little comment at the river rapids. But, fortunately, she was tall enough (barely) to ride a rollercoaster called the "Barnstormer." The second day the line was short enough to brave at the rollercoaster, we asked Laura if she wanted to ride it. She looked at us to clarify with, "the ride where I go aaaaaa?" in a very mellow voice. We told her "yes" and then hopped on the ride. I sat down with her and began the climb up the hill before the drop. The ride began and next to me, little Laura went "aaaa" in a very short, quiet and mellow voice. Never once did the decibel level increase while on the ride. It only increased when we got off the ride and she announced in a yell, "That was so much fun! Let's go again." But, back on the ride, the "aaaa" was still quiet and mellow. Here's a picture of me with Laura and Whitney in line for the rollercoaster the first time we went.

  1. Horray for a wet trip. It sounds like it was good. I hope to get a full report soon.
