Sara turned 5 this last week. I love 5! She had a magical day. Daddy worked from home, which helped the magic. Her day began at ballet where she passed out suckers to all the little dancers. Then she got herself ready for her "lunch date" and "Build-a-Bear date" with Grandma and Grandpa. She picked out the whole outfit herself. And yes, she has been carrying a purse everywhere lately.
After her date with Grandma and Grandpa, we let her open her presents from us - including a new purse. Her highlights were the stomp rocket, Sally statue, mickey ring, and dinosaur kit for our little paleontologist-to-be. Though we have also been reading all her new books non-stop. Her excitement was palpable, yet she was still sweet enough to let Eliza help her unwrap a few. Go, Sara!
For dinner she selected "the fondue we had for Valentine's". Having Grandma and Grandpa over makes it a special party (and my effort to prepare such an elaborate dinner more worthwhile) and was great. She wanted "the special cake we dip in fondue" - or pound cake - for her birthday cake. It was super delicious and a great time!
Happy Birthday to you Sara...we can't believe you are a Big 5 years old! We love you so much!
