Laura had her first vocal recital in May! We loved being able to see and hear the results of all her hard work. She got her hair done beautifully and Eliza had to join in the fun.
Her teacher, Dave Smith, is with Hale Center theater. We waited a year to get into him and I must say, "Totally worth it!" So, the performance was held on Hale's stage. The kids all warmed up together.
The kids performed in age order: youngest to oldest. Laura was first and sang "Shy" from Once Upon a Mattress. She still had a horrible sinus infection, but you really couldn't tell at all. Check her out! Sorry for the bad filming; I got so distracted by her singing that I floated around a bit.
We all loved hearing her sing and were blown away! Apparently, we weren'tthe only ones because Laura got chosen out of 60 voice students as one of the seven to perform at Orem's Summerfest. She was selected byHale's director to sing this song after she watched her do this performance. Yay!
We all went out for root beer floats afterwards. It was a wonderful evening!
Congratulations to Laura!
