Cabinocity

We spent both Friday and Saturday evenings at the cabin. The shed that Jason, Dad and Steve built 2 summers ago was just too heavy - "well-built" - for the deck and the poor deck just couldn't take the weight. Therefore, a new section of deck built sturdy enough for the shed was in order. Jason, Steve and Dad worked on some of the footings for the deck on Friday and then Jason and Dad finished them on Saturday. It was lots of back-breaking work, but at least it will keep the deck-breaking from occuring.

Laura had a marvelous time playing with her cousins on Friday night. The cabin is always great, but the cabin with friends is even better. The hit of the evening were the very cool glow sticks Grandma brought.

We women (Becca qualifies as a Young Woman) all decided (in our different homes without discussion) to dress the same for the evening. Great minds think alike!

The night without cousins, Laura got some other special fun. She really enjoyed introducing her sister to the joys of the cabin. Check them out playing with the little cabin and eating ice cream on the deck. Sara loves being outside, and outside at the cabin is the best you can get.

Laura's favorite part of Saturday was throwing rocks in the river. It had to be done on the bridge in order to avoid the many mosquitos, but it didn't seem to affect her fun in any way. Plus, we adults got to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and river!
