Where Oh Where Has Our Family Gone?

Hallelujah! The majority of the work in the basement is finally done. We finally had to set a deadline (carpet install date) or we figured we'd never get moving on it. Yes, we have been in the basement for the last week.

We have done a ton of painting. And, yes, Laura even helped - it was a fun Tom Sawyer moment!
We installed tile in from the french doors (Thank you to my parents for the help!), but we couldn't muster up the gumption to also do the bathroom. Good thing Laura has young legs and a fantastic bladder!
We moved in furniture (thank you, Lance), unloaded books, toys, etc., and bought Laura her new bed.
My favorite room is Laura's pink princess palace. Anyone who knows Laura, knows this is her ideal room! I can't believe she has gotten so big!
I also adore having all this space and can't wait for the last bits to be done. All that is left is the carpet in the spare bedroom (they didn't order enough), our couches to come in from backorder (yes, they were such an amazing deal that we are waiting until June for them), organizers to be bought from IKEA (waiting for the next paycheck), finishing the bathroom and decorating to be done (neither likely to be done for a while!)

  1. It is so nice to finally be done! And it turned out so perfect. Laura's room really is the "ideal" room for her and Melinda did an excellent job on that tile. Nice work, Babes!!!

  2. Love the new finished basement. It looks fantastic! Talk about instant space...your house is very large now. The basement has so much light it does not feel like a basement at all. Laura's bedroom is perfect... the pink color is great.

  3. O.k. I guess I need to come over and see what you have been up to! Grandma Linda told me that Laura's room was the cutest color of pink she had ever seen! I can't wait to see it.

  4. Love it!!! Sorry we couldn't help with the moving of furniture. I can't wait to see Laura's room in person.
