Eliza's 1st Birthday - Food and Decor

There's much more to say about Eliza's first birthday, but I wanted to get a little something up today. Since Eliza is our last baby, and the last baby of this generation on both sides, I went a little more crazy for her first birthday than I had previously. We invited both sets of grandparents over for her party - she isn't into crowds right now. The big girls helped me decorate and shop for her party supplies. It was grand!!
We planned her menu around her taste. Eliza's favorite foods are salmon and dumplings. Since it's in the summer, we went for salmon. Since oreo cookies are her favorite treat, I made chocolate cupcakes (added mini chips to a cake mix and they turned out much better than normal) with cream cheese frosting. And daddy made her favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream.
It turned out yummy and cute...more to come!!

    I can't believe she's one! I know I haven't met this little angel, but I've watched her grow via the blog so I feel the connection. :)
